June 2025 - PARKING ISSUE - please scroll down for special note

It's on its own driveway set back from Wellington Street, Northampton, NN1 3AS. With its own beautiful garden next to it, it's a calm oasis in a patch of Northampton which time and the borough planners haven't been kind to, between the mainly pedestrianised Abington Street, and The Mounts.

Friends Meeting House viewed from Garden.

Wellington Street, if you know Northampton, is the little road up from Abington Street next to what was Marks and Spencer, where the Meeting House is set back on its own driveway so doesn't immediately show up.

If you're not familiar with the area, and because it can be approached from various directions, I really recommend pasting "Quaker Meeting House, Wellington street, Northampton NN1 3AS" into your favourite online map service.
If this is Google Maps it'll probably show you an image of this slightly sad looking white building, a factory shop converted into a church, which is not it!

Approach to Meeting House down Wellington St

A few metres down the hill and you'll see what the second image shows... Meeting House gateway the red brick building right next to that white building.

If you're coming by car or foot up from Abington Street, Wellington St is the little lane next to where M&S used to be, and you'll see the Meeting House on your right past the car park.

SPECIAL NOTE: PARKING June 2025 on

We've temporarily lost our convenient parking, regrettably. While building work's being carried out nearby, the car park has turned into a builders' yard.
Rather than complex instructions, it's probably best to suggest you type "Upper Mounts Car Park Northampton" into whatever satnav you use, and allow time for a 5 or so minute walk. We're sorry about this, but apparently the builders' yard is eventually due to turn back into a car park.

But we still have convenient bus routes close by, we still have the friendly welcome and good company of the Feast of Fools, and the essential really excellent cake.

If you're a wheelchair user please let us know in advance that you're coming and we'll unlock the ramp access door. Everything is on level ground floor once you're in - refreshments room, main room and toilets.
